| HD EXPO November 2007 Speakers
Brian Steiner, CG Supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks, most recently completed work on director Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf, which utilized Imageworks’ patented Imagemotion™ performance capture system. Steiner’s responsibilities on Beowulf included look-development of the character, Grendel. In addition, Steiner oversaw lighting supervision and led a team of artists that defined sequence lighting for seven key sequences adding up to a total of 150 shots of the film. He was also responsible for standardizing the rendering pipeline for the production. Prior to his work on Beowulf, Steiner was CG Supervisor on Ghost Rider, Lead Look Development on The Polar Express, Lead Shader Writer on The Haunted Mansion and Stuart Little 2, and Look Development on Hollow Man. Before joining Imageworks in 2000, Steiner worked at Pacific Titles & Optical on Armageddon and Solider. He also worked atWarner Digital Studios on Batman and Robin, Mars Attacks and Eraser and at Boss Films on Outbreak and Species. Steiner studied computer animation at Ringling School of Art and Design. His hometown is Indiana, Pennsylvania. Panel: 3D: From Asset Creation to Projection
